SW*AID - Happy International Women's Day

Some plans for an awesome year

Hi ladies,

Happy international women’s day - we hope you’re having a fabulous Sunday.

We’ve been busy cooking up some plans for the yesterday of the year, and we’re exciting to share our first event and some plans.

Bring Your Own Learning (and Lunch)

Join us at the Engine Shed on March 26, 2026 at 12:15 PM (GMT) for a relaxed, in-person meetup. Bring your own learning materials and lunch, and get ready to share ideas, ask questions, and connect with fellow enthusiasts. Whether you want to dive deep or just hang out, it’s all about learning together in a friendly space. Don’t miss out on this casual and fun gathering!

Engine Shed, Redcliffe, England

Thursday, Mar 26 from 12:15 pm to 2:30 pm

Other Plans

Event in May

We’re working on a workshop / gathering for May - details coming soon.

Hackathon / Ideasathon for Equal Pay Day

Our big idea for the year is to run a much large event in November. We’d love to run a hackathon to get some ideas from this group built.

With vibe-coding tools like Lovable on the raise it makes it possible for non-developers to bring their ideas to life.

We were thinking of theming it around Equal Pay Day in the UK. From Google:

Equal Pay Day marks the point in the year when women stop earning relative to men due to the gender pay gap. According to the Fawcett Society, the stubborn, structural gender pay inequality means that from 22nd November, women effectively continue to work without pay until the end of 2025.

Typically hackathons are 2 full days - but we’re trying to find a work around to make the in person time only one day.

Small ask - if anyone knows a company who could offer space or sponsorship for this event, please let us know.

Or if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Free Lovable All Day Today

For 24 hours, for IWD, Lovable is giving free access to their platform.

If you have something you want to build, or have just never tried vibe-coding, it’s a great opportunity.

Hopefully see you all soon,

Laura and Hannah
